The history of the Castle of Ben Viure begins a century before its construction when in 1823 the great-grandparents of Dionisia Canadell (1875-1966) bought the estate where the Masia de Can Corominas and the Castle were located. Dionisia became an orphan when being a girl and stayed in Barcelona until she married Dr. Rafael Bufill Fors, Indian born in Havana and educated in Switzerland and Paris.

Dr. Bufill built this mansion to spend some periods with his family. He brought a piece of his native Havana in Catalan lands, hence the colonial Indian architectural style with neoclassical traces.

In 1935, soon after finalizing its construction, it died suddenly and a few months later the 1936 Civil War began, dispersing his children towards foreign earth.

Enric, the smallest of them, went to Italy where he met María Rosa Soler, also daughter of icolonial indian origin of the Penedès, but it would not be until 2 years later that they would meet again In Cuba, where they married and lived for 10 years.

They returned to Barcelona to start their own family, but it was not until 1978 when his son Rafael Bufill Soler settled in this magnificent house and, years later, began with his children a long process of rehabilitation of Castell de Ben Viure.
